I just made this recipe the other day to bring to a friends bbq. Everyone was talking about them. They were a big hit! This is one of the most simple recipes if you need something to bring to a party and you don’t feel like spending all day in the kitchen baking (especially in this heat!)
1 pkg 24 ct “break and bake” chocolate chip cookie dough
1 block of cream cheese (8oz, softened)
4 tbsp butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Preheat the oven to 350. Place 1 cookie dough square into each section of a 24 cup mini muffin pan.
Using your thumb, press down the middle of each square and work the dough up the sides of the pan. I used a Pampered Chef tart former, but I also fixed the dough with my fingers because the dough was sticking on the wooden tart former.

Bake them for 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown. When they come out of the oven, they will be a little puffy, so you will need to push the centers down and reshape them into cup form, and then let them cool.

Once they are cool enough, gently remove them from the pan and place them on a cooling rack so that you can make the filling.
In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, vanilla, and butter. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and blend until creamy. You can spoon the filling into the cookie cups, or you can go the “fancier route” like I chose to and use a piping bag w/ a tip. I used a Wilton bag w/ a #22 tip, and then added some sprinkles to make them extra cute!

That’s a great way to sneak a little extra frosting on a cookie – it’s my favorite part.
Those look so yummy!
Yum! I love new goodies for dish to pass kinds of gatherings. Do you think it would work with regular from scratch dough too?
possibly. I never tried it. You can use the rolled cookie dough as well, just add in 1 tbsp of dough and follow the directions from there. You can use sugar cookie dough or any dough really. I just like chocolate chip!
for now Im attempting with break and bake (there was a sale and I had a coupon
) but when I try again with a from scratch recipe Ill let ya know how it turns out! Again thanks a ton for the awesome idea!!!
That looks and sounds so yummy!!

I tried your recipe and it was a big hit with the wife and kids. I am going to make it for the extended family as an appetizer for Thanksgiving. The smell while cooking was a pleasant torture, but the final product was well worth the wait. Thank you so much for sharing. I used a combination of cream cheese and brie of the filling and it was great. What do you think about adding peanut butter chips to the cookie dough?
This is such a clever idea!
YUM!
