This post is long past due. I have been busy, busy, busy with our new bundle of joy and the move and hubby’s new job. I apologize for things being slow on the blog but I am sure if you’re a mom or dad, you understand. I won’t lie, it’s been nice to take a step back and just spend some quality time with family. Getting to know our new baby has been such a joy. So without further ado…
I am proud to introduce you all to our newest little mister…

Walker Talon
His sweet little self was born September 1st at 5:23pm. Labor lasted a little over 11 hours. I did not opt to go natural (hats off to those of you who do…seriously). I choose to have an epidural which had to be placed not once, but twice due to it not taking the first time. I am terrified of needles so it figures I’d have to have one shoved in my spine twice! It was horrible! The second epidural did help but still did not numb like it should have so I ended up feeling the majority of my labor (really, I don’t know how people do it all natural…what the hell is wrong with me?!). Around 5:15 that evening the nurse came in to check my cervix and see how labor was progressing. At that point I was at 9cm and she suggested we try a few pushes just to see how my body would react. I pushed one time and she said “STOP! He’s crowning. We have to get the doctor” I was like “Um…huh?” Apparently my body was more than ready to get the little monster out of me. My OB came in around 5:20 and started prepping for delivery. At 5:22pm she can be seen in the picture below standing behind one of the nurses. Immediately after that picture was taken I pushed….twice….and Walker was here. I am not exaggerating. The kid practically fell out me.
Walker and I, along with the rest of the family, are doing great.
Please feel free to share details of your labor story in the comments below. I LOVE reading other’s!

He is simply adorable! When I was pregnant with my first I was in denial all day long that I was in labor after all I wasn’t due until the 2-3 weeks later. We went to Wal-mart that morning and I swore up and down that I wasn’t having contractions and that it was just braxton hicks. I denied it all through the store, the ride home, at dinner, while my husband was on the phone with the midwife and in the car on the way to the birth center! LOL. 4 minutes after arriving my little bundle of joy was in my arms
Memories… Enjoy him and congratulations!
Wow! That is awesome! Labor doesn’t get much better than that doesn’t! Great story. Thank you so much for sharing.

Pahaha, glad you liked that.
And thank you!!
Congratulations, he is one gorgeous baby, such a sweet little smile he will be pure joy, I think babies are so adorable when they sleep. Mine are grown adults now but I do remember all those precious moments when they were first born, and I remember all that labor pain too, I dont think you ever forget it LOL
I wouldnt give it another thought or worry about not going natural its totally your preference, when those labor pains start , Wow they can be unbelievable painful, I did have both of mine natural but it was years ago and since I was petrified of needles there was no way in this world could I ever go thru with an epidural so for me natural was my only option, yeah it was painful and the pushing part seems to last forever but I just kept thinking that it would end eventually, I was in labor at the hospital for about 12 hours with my first but started labor at home and waited until the pains were closer together plus I couldnt stand it anymore (spent 8 hrs in early labor at home) then went to the hospital, my second baby which was born 8 yrs later was much easier and I was only in labor about 4 hrs at the hospital, I requested again to go natural so of course I never got anything for pain, was afraid it would slow it down and things were moving pretty quickly, in fact my husband never even took off his jacket, he just sat in the chair watching TV while I walked around bitching about the pain, (men !!! -they should Know what labor feels like), If I had to do it all over again, I would ask for everything and anything they have and I would want to try the epidural, I know more now) after those few hours in very hard back labor my son was born, ah such wonderful memories and now he is 23 and graduating college, time flies so fast
Congrats again
You’re a stronger women than me! I am PETRIFIED of needles as well so being stuck twice was like torture for me. However, I’m an even bigger wuss and I don’t think I would’ve handled natural labor very well at all. But really, I think I ended up in even more pain during the first 6 or 7 hours of labor because my back was KILLING me from where they’d stuck me for the first epi…since it didn’t work. Aside from that though, I had a pretty good labor both times. Hosiptal, doctor, staff etc… were all great and both babies were A-OK! That’s really all that matters.
Thanks for sharing your story!

Aw, thank you!!
Congrats!!
Beautiful pics.
Thanks!!!
Congrats he is beautiful!!
Thank you!!
Congrats, he is adorable xD. With my 2nd boy the doctor literally turned around and caught him! I did 2 practice pushes and that was apparently all it took because the doc put on his fancy blue gown, turned around and out popped my little guy
That’s exactly how it was for us! It really blew everyone’s mind (including mine)! Especially since I was only dilated to 9. I only pushed for 30 minutes with my first and we thought that was FAST!
Nicole
Congratulations!!!!
