Kalorik, first established in 1930 in Belgium, has become know for their fine engineering and unique product development. They were one of Europe’s first manufacturers of small electric appliances, beginning with electric toasters. Today, Kalorik is a second-generation industry leader. They have a passion to create superior products, stay current with trends, and maintain cutting edge manufacturing facilities.
I stumbled upon Kalorik when I realized that despite all of my kitchen gadgets, I did not have a toaster oven! I was tired of heating up the oven just to reheat pizza. The thing that I like about this toaster oven is that although it looks really heavy, its not. It was very easy for me to pick up and move across the kitchen when I was undecided where it should go. It’s been awhile since I’ve used a toaster oven, so I admit, the pretty sandwiches you see below, the bread got a little too dark. Now that I’ve read the manual, I’ve learned how to adjust my settings properly and I haven’t had any mishaps since. We’ve actually been using the toaster oven daily to make the kids waffles in the morning, or for making bagels. It’s much easier heating a bagel in a toaster oven than it is in a toaster! Here you can see that you can easily fit 3 sandwiches on the rack.
I have to say that one of the “cons” about the toaster oven is that when you open the door, the rack doesn’t slide out so that you can easily reach your food. I have to get an oven mitt out and pull the rack out to get the food onto the plate.
The front of the oven has 3 dials. The top dial is for the temperature, the middle one selects how you want to cook/toast/broil, and the bottom dial is the timer. The broiling rack sits right in the broiling pan.
I think that the toaster oven itself has a very attractive design that can match well in any kitchen. Our appliances our white but most of my smaller kitchen appliances are stainless or stainless with black, so this fits into the kitchen very well. Although the outside of the oven does get pretty warm to the touch, I do feel confident now that my older kids can use this with ease…when they use the regular toaster it freaks me out!
