Yesterday, Rhiana posted about her obsession with cloth diapers. Well, now I share with you my obsession… baby toys.
I literally cannot go to WalMart without buying baby toys. They carry Garanimal and Bright Stars toys, which are my favorite. They have so many little toys that are perfect for Garrett’s current developmental level – teethers, rattles, balls, and all sorts of different things to chew and hold. The best part? They’re so cheap! I have been known to walk out of there with three or four new toys in my cart. Thankfully, I rarely bring Garrett with me on these shopping trips, so hopefully he won’t get any ideas about getting something new every single time we go to the store.
I really don’t know what my obsession with baby toys is. Perhaps it’s because I study up way too much on child development so I’m constantly looking for ways to stimulate his fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. Or possibly it’s because my child really enjoys playing with toys and I get a lot of enjoyment out watching him explore new things. Or maybe I’m just coo coo crazy and I’m spoiling my child rotten. Probably that. It’s okay. Acknowledged. Accepted. Moving on.
So, in case you didn’t believe me about the toy obsession…. here’s evidence. Our toy collection. So far.
It’s kind of a lot of a 6 month old, isn’t it?
Danny has officially banned me from buying any more baby toys until he has outgrown some of these ones. But there’s still so many that I want to buy!
Like a Winkel! Doesn’t this look fun?? And think of the fine motor practice! Or every single Lamaze or Skip Hop toy ever made. Because really. Is there anything cuter?
