A huge thanks to Warm Tradition for the hot water bottle for me to review.
I don’t know about where you are, maybe you’re fortunate enough to live in a place where it’s sunny and warm all year long. But here? It’s getting COLD. Heat running at night, scraping frost from your windows, hats and mittens outside kind of cold. It came on quick, it seems, and I am totally not loving it. (Though this time two years ago we got a BLIZZARD, so I shouldn’t complain too much.)
When the weather gets this way, my bones think they’re 80, and I start having a lot of aches and pains. I’ve had arthritis since I was a child, and I’ve tried a lot of things to ease my pain. I prefer not to take pain relieving medicine since they often upset my stomach, and while I get a lot of relief from an electric heating pad, they make me nervous. I’ve fallen asleep with them before and that scares me a lot. Then I found Warm Tradition! Warm Tradition hot water bottles are the same idea as those thick, orange plastic bottles that your grandmother used to use, but they’re updated to be EVEN better – in usage and in looks, thank goodness.
The water bottles are made of thick, durable, eco-friendly, BPA and Phtalate-free thermoplastic, and when filled with hot water, stay heated for up to SIX hours. I filled mine with water that I heated in my tea kettle (you should not use boiling water, so I removed it from the stove before the whistle). I was a little worried about burning myself, but the top is so wide that I was easily able to fill the bottle without even slightly splattering or spilling the water. I placed the bottle under my blanket on the couch near my feet… and fell asleep, obviously. With zero worries about burning myself and catching the house on fire. And when I woke up who knows how many hours later and finally went to my own bed, the bottle was still nice and toasty warm.
You can purchase a water bottle with covers, which makes it soft and cozy and also helps it retain heat, while protecting your skin from the heat within the bottle. I chose the heather gray cable knit covered water bottle, but they come in a TON of different fabrics including flannel, fleece, faux fur, velour, sweatshirt, and cotton terry! There are also many colors, styles, and patterns within those fabrics. Even animal shapes! Literally something for everyone! The covers are easily removed and easily cleaned. I can attest to this because literally within hours of receiving my water bottle, Garrett threw up on it. Hand washed it and hung it to dry for a few hours and good as new.
Warm Tradition bottles not only have styles to suit everyone, but I can’t think of any person who could not benefit from owning one of these bottles. They can be used for whatever ails you – stress tension relief, muscles pains, arthritis, back pain, menstrual cramps, pregnancy and labor pains, soothing colicy babies, comfort for pets, warming your feet at night…. you name it!
