Zangadoo Kangaroo, An Australian Adventure Game Review and Prize Pack Giveaway

disclosure

Zang Pin

As many of you know, I traveled to Australia in 2010/2011 (New Years Eve in Sydney = awesome!) to watch a cricket series that shares my nickname. Ever since, I’ve been quite partial to all things Australian, so when Zangadoo Entertainment contacted me to review their mobile app game, I was more than happy to participate.

Me and Dan in Australia

This whimsical puzzle games requires one to launch baby joeys across a number of obstacles including dingos and crocodiles to the safety of a friend on the other side, all the while listening to fun didgeridoo music. The controls are fairly simple and easy to catch onto, especially if you’d played other popular launching games, like that one with the disgruntled aviaries. As you play, you travel around Australia, visiting all different area such as the outback, Billabong, the rainforest, the beach, and finally back home to Zangadoo and Joey’s home – Zillaroo.

The game is free to play, with the typical optional in game micro transactions which allow you to purchase coins to unlock things like magic boomerangs to help you when you’re stuck, avatars, and different colored joeys. You can also earn coins through game play to acquire these extras.

The team at Zangadoo has not only created a cute, fun game, but they’ve really brought the characters of their game to life with their books and merchandise. Their Tumblr page includes a great deal of great information about Australia, which is all very well suited for young children. The Australian culture is so fascinating and fun, and a perfect starting point for educating young children about places and people all around the world. I mean, what child doesn’t love kangaroos, koalas, and wombats??

Watch the trailer below for more information about this fun game!

Besides playing Zangadoo, there’s lots of other ways you can connect with Australian culture. Want to know a big one? Try some Vegemite!! It’s good for you.
