A_Disclosure_Review Supporting Breastfeeding - Breastfeeding Tips and Products If you didn’t already know, it’s World Breastfeeding Week! This week means a lot to me, because breastfeeding my son was extremely important to me. As a first time mom who gave birth to a preemie, breastfeeding was a struggle. But despite our struggles, we made it 14 months! I owe the success of our journey partially to my own dedication, but also to the incredible amount of support I received – from family, friends – both in person and online, and the plethora of online support there is out there today. One place mama’s can look to support, both in information and in products, is Fresh Baby. Fresh Baby’s mission is to support parents with simple and natural solutions to help reduce a child’s risk of obesity by promoting the development of healthy eating habits from the first months of breastfeeding and the first bites of solid food. To celebrate World Breastfeeding Week and support breastfeeding mama’s everywhere, Fresh Baby has put together a fantastic prize pack to be given away to one OLM reader. What you could win:

Mama Jewels Breastfeeding Reminder, Mom’s Collapsible Water Bottle, and So Easy Mama Pop Maker   I received a set of these products to review, and let me tell you… they’re great, and a perfect addition to your breastfeeding survival kit. When I was nursing, I was CONSTANTLY thirsty and staying hydrated is so important to maintaining your supply, thus the collapsible water bottle is a MUST. Plus it’s ridiculously cute. It’s important to feed baby from both breasts at each feeding to make sure they get both the hindmilk and foremilk, as well as emptying your breasts to maintain supply. The way to do this is to switch which breast you start on each feeding. This can be hard to remember, so we often mark which one we started on with a variety of tools. A lot of moms use safety pins, which works, (I used a hair tie, and I couldn’t tell you how many times it ended up in my hair!) but these mama jewels are so much cuter! So Easy Mama Pops are fantastic! I made breastmilk popsicles with my son many times, using pacifiers and milk poured into the caps. Messy, but mostly effective. The So Easy Mama Pop maker is perfect. I made my son juice pops with it, and the treat slides right out of the flexible container, and the “stick” can double as a teether! They’ve also put together a couple of fantastic charts to help anyone breastfeeding or thinking about breastfeeding. Feel free to save them, print them, pin them, and share them!
