My youngest daughter will be 3 this coming August, and I am always looking for fun ways to entertain her and keep her little brain growing. We’ve mastered almost all of the basic colors, shapes, animals and their sounds, but one thing that I haven’t started yet is letter recognition and their sounds.

I stumbled across Learning Resources and had so much fun looking at all the wonderful items they had for her age. In addition to fun learning materials, they have really neat things for pretend play such as pretend food, a tool kit, doctor kit and even some bath toys (which I know she would also enjoy!).  After looking at all the things that I knew Emmaleigh would have fun with, I decided to see if I would have the opportunity to review and blog about one of their items, and I was accepted!

Since Emmaleigh isn’t familiar with her letters, I wanted something that would peak her interest and keep it fun while we are learning.  The Smart Snacks Alpha Pops really stood out to me because they are brightly colored, and they look like one of her favorite things…popcicles!

The Alpha Pops are double sided, so they include every letter of the alphabet- uppercase and lowercase, and they conveniently lock together once the color is matched up to the right letter. As you can see here, the letter M is on one side, and when you flip it over, you have the letter Z.

Emmaleigh had fun lining them all up as I was taking them out of the box. Our cat, Tucker, even had to come see what the excitement was about. They are just the right size for her to hold and too big to completely go into the mouth when we are pretending to eat them. She is still at the “everything goes in my mouth” phase, especially when it comes to pretend food play.

Here Emmaleigh has learned that E stands for Emmaleigh, and she is proudly showing off her letter!

The Smart Snacks Alpha Pops are suitable for 2-5 year olds and are available online at Learning Resources for $17.99 or you can use their online store locator to see if you can find them locally.

Learning Resources is being so kind as to offer 1one of our blog followers a chance to win their very own Smart Snacks Alpha Pops for their very own special someone! What could be better than a toy that is fun and educational at the same time?
